HACCP Certification…The Effective way for foods safety
Food Safety has become a worldwide concern. The devastating impacts a foodborne illness outbreak can have on not only lives, but on businesses and countries economics, have been well documented. Each year, hundreds of thousands of people throughout the world fall ill as a result of food poisoning and each year food companies pay out millions of dollars in compensation and suffer immeasurable damage to their business reputations.

It is now generally accepted by legislators, enforcement officers and food professionals that a formal, structured HACCP system is the most effective way of managing and controlling food safety hazards in the preperation and handling of food and food products.
In recognition of this, Qualitas International has developed its own HACCP standard, using the basis of the Alimentarius Codex, and also incorporating specific requirements from FDA, WHO, and other internationally recognised organizations.

This standard forms the basis of our certification, and carries the Accreditation of RvA, the Dutch National Accreditation Body, well known for taking the lead in Food Safety Certification schemes.

With the range of Qualitas International certification schemes, we are able to offer specific schemes such as HACCP, or this could also be combined with ISO 9001 orother management systems as required.

Qualitas International has submitted its standard for endorsement against the Global Food Safety Initiative, (GFSI), Key requirements as specified by the world leading retail organisations, in their ongoing action to increase World Food Safety.

The Qualitas International standard is also accepted by the International Register of Certificated Auditors, (IRCA), as meeting their requirements for auditor experiences within the food industry, thus providing
our clients with a standard approach for requirements and auditing technique.

The fulfilment of a Food Safety system has been a legal requirement within most of the food industry in the European Union (EU) since 1996 and has been adopted by local legislation in a number of other countries. In addition, more and more purchasers require the suppliers to implement comprehensive safety management system, which build up confidence to all customers and society at large of the safety and quality of food products.
Through the Qualitas International Accredited Certification scheme, there are significant benefits that the food industry can obtain :
To give the customers the confidence that the products have been produced hygienically and safe, and that the system has been verified by a competent third party organisation.
To demonstrate the intention to take all reasonable precautions and exercise due diligence in the hygienic production of the products.
To meet Food Safety legislation requirements of the countries where the company export food products.
To significantly decrease the number of customer assessments and therefore save cost and time with an independent, internationally recognised certification body.
To reduce wastage and recalls in a cost-effective way.
To reduce costs by having a better relationship with the national food safety authorities.
To increase the effectiveness of the Management System regarding food safety, and work towards ongoing company improvement.
